在日本经常下雨，人们也喜欢讨论天气。在日语里关于雨的词汇就有 50多种.
在2014年巴黎的一个展览会上，来自日本的艺术公司Nendo展出的一组设计，选取了日语中关于雨的20个词汇，把雨的每一个瞬间都凝固在一个水瓶里。这个水瓶使用透明丙烯酸材料，用透视画的形式来表现不同种类的雨。
