Two Airlines to Carry Olympic Flame to Japan
Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways announced that they will work together to transport the Olympic flame from Greece to Japan. Once it arrives, it will be carried throughout the entire country, before igniting the main torch in Tokyo to commence the 2020 Olympic Games.

The flame will be lit in Olympia, Greece on March 12, 2020. It will arrive in Japan on March 20 via Matsushima Air Base in northeastern Japan. Sources say a JAL Boeing 787 will carry the flame, and that the aircraft will sport a special paint job and both company logos. JAL President Yuji Akasaka said his company will work with ANA to safely transport the flame.
