The World’s First Pokémon Airport: Noto Satoyama Renamed for a Limited Time

Noto Satoyama Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture has become the world’s first airport to carry the Pokémon name, operating for a limited period as Noto Satoyama POKÉMON with YOU Airport. The terminal now offers Pokémon decorations, limited-edition food, and original goods.

A World First

Noto Satoyama Airport has been renewed for a limited period as Noto Satoyama Pokémon with You Airport. The project is part of recovery support following the Noto Peninsula earthquake of January 2024. Pokémon decorations and original content now fill the terminal.

At the center of the terminal stands a giant balloon of Pikachu with an airplane, the symbol of the renewed airport, surrounded by Flying-type Pokémon arranged as if in mid-flight. Pokémon also appear in the arrival lobby, at boarding gates, and on signage throughout the building.

Recovery-support artwork inspired by Noto’s natural landscapes appears alongside airport-exclusive original designs.

Photo Spots Throughout

The terminal has arranged several installations designed for photographs.

On the observation deck, Pikachu no Satoyama depicts a traditional countryside landscape formed from countless Pikachu figures, with other Pokémon hidden among them.

An original short story, accessed by smartphone, links with monuments installed around the terminal, letting visitors follow the narrative as they move through the airport.

Limited Food and Goods

Restaurant Annon, on the airport’s third floor, serves original Pokémon-themed pancakes and drinks. Set menus come with an original-design placemat.

The second-floor shop sells original goods featuring airport-exclusive art: T-shirts, keychains, luggage tags, and suitcase belts. These items are available only at the airport.

Pokémon Spots Across Noto

Pokémon spots are also scattered across the Noto region.

Buses wrapped in Pokémon designs are scheduled to improve access to spots such as the Wakura Pokémon Footbath at Wakura Onsen and a monument in Suzu City. Express buses to Kanazawa Station will also be wrapped in Pokémon-related designs, making it easier to combine a Noto visit with a wider tour of Ishikawa Prefecture.
