This intriguing video from Discover Nippon takes us to Shimako Lake, a reservoir formed by the creation of Shimagawa Dam in the western part of Gunma Prefecture. Aside from being serious onsen (hot spring) and ski country, the region is also among the nation’s best for stunning koyo (fall foliage) and feels worlds away from Tokyo, despite its relative proximity.
