The symbolic pink Sakura and gold are colors of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic torch. Tuesday marked 100 days before the start of the Olympic Torch Relay. The Tokyo Games organizing committee announced that the relay will start on March 25 next year from the J-Village National Training Center in Fukushima Prefecture.

Around 10,000 runners will be carrying the flame through 859 municipalities across all 47 prefectures in Japan, as organizers had planned before the games were postponed to next year due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic. Officials said they will work on COVID-19 countermeasures to avoid crowding and close-contact settings.
