A Carbon Neutral Japan by 2050
Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide pledged to cut Japan’s greenhouse gases to net zero in 30 years. Suga said the central government will work with regional areas to tackle climate change. He said taking proper steps will prompt changes in industrial structures, the economy, and society and lead to major growth. The Japanese leader said he aims to strike a balance between anti-coronavirus measures and economic revitalization. He also emphasized his proactive stance toward implementing reforms, including plans to digitalize government functions and have public health insurance cover infertility treatment.
