Japan to Further Ease Entry Ban
Sources close to the government say new entrants carrying visas for a minimum of three months will be allowed in as early as October. The easing of restrictions has been taking place in stages. So far, it’s been limited to non-Japanese residents as well as business travelers from a limited number of countries. The government is planning to cap the number of entries per day. Foreign nationals must undergo testing both before and after arriving in Japan. They’re also subject to two weeks of self-quarantine.
Japan will remain off limits to international tourists for the time being.
