JR Halves Price of Bullet Train Tickets
JR East is offering a limited number of half-price tickets for some bullet trains and express trains through the end of next March.

Passengers can purchase a reserved seat on a shinkansen between Tokyo and Morioka stations for 7,400 yen (US$70) one way. The regular price is 14,810 yen (US$140). Customers need to register online and make a reservation 20 days to a month before their travel date.
Central Japan Railway is selling a travel package that includes a reserved seat on the bullet train between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka at nearly half the regular price.
