Fewer People Travel Day After Summer Holiday
The flow of people at major train stations in Tokyo on the first Monday after Japan’s summer holiday season decreased when compared with the previous month. For many, this was the first workday back following Japan’s summer holiday season.

Analysis of mobile phone data showed a 4 percent decrease from a month earlier in the flow of people at Shinagawa Station.
Shimbashi and Shinjuku stations in central Tokyo both saw drops of about 12 percent.
