Cabinet minister Nishimura Yasutoshi met with a new panel of experts to discuss the matter. The panel will deliberate on how next-generation technologies could help conduct simulations in five areas.

They include early detection and preventing patients from falling seriously ill and visualization of the spread of virus droplets.

Nishimura said he wants to see progress on the countermeasures by August, as the next wave of the coronavirus and the flu season could simultaneously come in the fall.
