Tokyo Subway Going Antimicrobial
Workers at Tokyo Metro are now applying an antimicrobial surface coating to their trains to fend off the coronavirus.
By NIPPON TV NEWS 24 JAPANThe operator will be spraying the agent that kills microorganisms in all of their 2,720 cars. Test results show that the compound is effective for viruses such as influenza. Officials hope passengers will feel safe when using one of Japan's busiest subways.
Tokyo Metro will be applying the spray to train cars every 15 days to maintain the antimicrobial effect.
