Kanagawa Beaches Reopen to Visitors
The prefecture began turning tourists away from beaches beginning April 23, 2020, in response to worries over the spread of COVID-19. They replaced the signs with new ones asking visitors to follow social distancing rules.
Many visitors could be seen at beaches around the Shonan area on Wednesday as temperatures reached a comfortable 26 degrees Celsius.
Restrictions for businesses in Kanagawa Prefecture were lifted on May 27, after the state of emergency was officially lifted for the entire country.
