Set to open in the spring of 2020, Saphir Odoriko is a luxury train that will connect Tokyo with the popular tourist destination in Shizuoka Prefecture, Izu.

The exterior of the Saphir Odoriko is based on the image of the gemstone sapphire. JR East’s eight-car train features spacious seats and private rooms. Passengers can snack on ramen at a noodle bar. Saphir Odoriko is scheduled to begin operating on March 14.
