Pottery in itself is a unique family experience—but Japanese pottery is even rarer. The aesthetics and glaze of Japanese pottery is very distinctive, but you can learn all about it and make a piece yourself at Uzumako Ceramic Art School. Trial lessons are ¥3,780 yen plus separate filing fees, and after a few weeks, you'll be able to take home a practical one-of-a-kind souvenir.
