Okinawa's Feast of the Dragon God

Located roughly 20 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Naha, Okinawa's Uruma City hosts some pretty spectacular festivals throughout the year. The extravagant Feast of the Dragon God (Ryujin no Utage) is held in mid-December at the Ishikawa Multipurpose Dome, a venue normally used for Okinawan bull-fighting.

Hannah Curtis from Fun Flying Four shares some incredible photos from the 2014 festival, featuring everything from dragon dances to taiko drums and massive-scale shodo calligraphy—just in time for the 2015 event!
