They took a stroll around a lettuce farm in the Ohinata settlement in Nagano Prefecture.
On August 27, the imperial couple will head to Kusatsu, Gunma Prefecture, where they will spend the rest of their vacation. The former empress was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer earlier this month. She is set to undergo surgery this autumn.
