Kendo Looks Awesome in Kyoto
With its focus on Arashiyama, Heian Shrine, Gion and shodo, you might mistake this video for a travel ad for Kyoto. But as you watch, you'll discover that it's actually an incredibly artful promotional video for Tozando, a Kyoto-based maker of kendo and iaido-related gear. While only founded in 1989, the company says it aims to preserve the integrity of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, offering everything from bogu and idaito to hakama and tenugui kerchiefs.
Unsurprisingly, the video is directed by Osamu Hasegawa, who also gave us an incredible Kyoto hyper motion video a few months back. We can only thank him for making kendo look so cool!
