Eco Olympics: Recycled Plastics & Metals
It's no secret that Japan has something of a love affair with plastics, but a few eco-friendly initiatives for the 2020 Olympics hope to shed light on that fact. Athletes will stand on podiums made of recycled plastic to receive their medals, and the metals themselves will also be made using recycled electronics!

As one of the leading countries in per-capita plastic consumption, Japan still has a long way to go when it comes to plastics and the environment. Hopefully shining a spotlight on the issue will help Japan in future efforts to create a more eco-conscious culture.
