Facial Recognition Tech Coming to Narita
Information technology system giant NEC announced Friday, May 31, 2019, that it will introduce a facial recognition system to speed up boarding at Narita International Airport starting in 2020.

Passengers boarding flights by Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways will be able to use the new technology. They simply have to register their face, passport and boarding pass information during check-in. Officials hope the new system will help ease congestion at the airport and enhance security, especially ahead of the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
