The Japanese trailer for Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One was released on February 14, 2018, revealing a few more tantalizing shots from the film.

Based on the 2011 science fiction novel of the same name by Ernest Cline, the story is set in the year 2045, with the global economy on the verge of collapse and much of the world engrossed in a virtual reality world called the OASIS.

The film follows Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan), who lives in a slum but dives into a mass treasure hunt through when it's revealed that whoever finds an easter egg in OASIS will win control of the entire virtual world.

Heavily inspired by geek nostalgia and anime culture, Ready Player One premieres on April 20 in Japan, three weeks after its March 29 U.S. debut.
