Since Japanese home bathrooms are traditionally split into a sink, shower and toilet area, up to three people can use the area at the same time without getting in one another's way. And as Aiko notes, this also keeps various smells in their own places! She also outlines all the benefits of a modern Japanese bathtub, from the emergency alert button to the ability to control the water temperature from the kitchen. We're not quite sure what the "service" button does, but we presume it's just like the emergency alert, but with a less unnerving sound.
