Public Transportation from Haneda to Tokyo
Haneda Airport serves as a major hub for international travel to Japan, but there are so many options out there for getting around once you land. We've put together our list of the best options to get you to Tokyo Station, from the cheapest routes to the most comfortable and convenient methods out there.
The Simplest, Most Convenient Route: Tokyo Monorail & JR Lines
The simplest, easiest way to get from Haneda Airport to Tokyo Station is to use the Tokyo Monorail. Domestic terminals 1 and 2 each have underground stations where you can board the monorail. There is also a station at the international terminal. The Tokyo Monorail only has a single line, which runs from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho, so it’s impossible to go wrong. There are three types of train: the Haneda Express, the rapid train and the local train.
The Haneda Express, which is the fastest, only stops at four stations: Monorail Hamamatsucho, Haneda Airport International Terminal, Haneda Airport Terminal 1 and Haneda Airport Terminal 2. From the Hamamatsucho Station Monorail, it takes 13 minutes, 17 minutes and 19 minutes respectively. To get to Tokyo Station, you need to change to the JR Yamanote Line or the Keihin Tohoku Line. From Hamamatsucho Station, there's a ticket gate that allows you to transfer directly to JR lines, which is very convenient for saving time.
Tokyo Monorail + JR fare: Adult ¥650 (IC Card: ¥637)
The Cheapest Route to Tokyo Station: Keikyu Line to JR
There's one more railway route from Haneda Airport to Tokyo Station. The Keihin Electric Express Railway (Keikyu) + JR. You have to change trains at Shinagawa Station. From Shinagawa Station, you can use the JR Yamanote Line or the Keihin Tohoku Line, so it's almost the same timewise at about 30 minutes, but the fare is a little cheaper. Shinagawa Station has a ticket gate which you can use to transfer directly to JR lines.
If you're coming from a domestic flight, you can use the Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal Station, which is midway between Terminals 1 and 2. If you're coming from an international flight, you can use Haneda Airport International Terminal Station.
When using the Keikyu, please note that there are trains heading to Yokohama that stop on the same platform as the ones going to Shinagawa. Many trains display destinations before Shinagawa, and if it's your first time, you might get a little confused. At both Shinagawa and Kamata Stations, make doubly sure of the destination before you change trains.
Keikyu + JR fare: ¥572 (IC Card: ¥580)

Avoid Transfers! Use the Comfortable Limousine Bus
If you go by railway, you have to change trains at least once. But if you go to Tokyo Station via bus, then it's easy, because there are no transfers. The fare is a little high when compared with the trains, but I really recommend this if you have bulky luggage. If you take the limousine bus, you are guaranteed a comfortable seat. There are chargers on every seat, and in some buses, you can also use Wi-Fi.
Buses from Haneda Airport arrive at Tokyo Station's Yaesu South Exit. They take about 40 minutes. At Haneda Airport, the Limousine Bus stops at Bus Stop No. 1 at Terminal 1, Bus Stop No. 4 at Terminal 2 and at International Terminal 1. It's operated by Friendly Airport Limousine.

Use Fixed Rate Taxis for Peace of Mind
For when you have a lot of luggage or would like to go somewhere with pinpoint accuracy, you can use a convenient taxi, though the price is very high. If you've decided to use a taxi, we recommend Tokyo Hire-Taxi Association's Haneda Airport - Tokyo Fixed Rate Taxi. The fee is determined beforehand, so even if the roads are congested, you don't need to worry. They are available at both the domestic and international terminals, and you don't need a reservation.
Also, the Haneda Airport Domestic / International Terminal access search tool HND Route Master has started a service for searching for fixed rate taxis from Haneda Airport. When moving by taxi, you can use it to look up the estimated arrival time and fare.
Fixed rate fare (Haneda Airport - Chiyoda District) = ¥5,600 (Toll roads separate)
