In February 2015, Cheung Mei Yee was lucky enough to be selected for the famous Japanese ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) operator Hoshino Resorts 100th Anniversary Project. 100 young people from different countries were invited to experience Japanese culture in-person.

Yee paid a visit to Okinawa for three days. On the third day, she traveled by Buffalo Car, which is rare all over Asia, from Iriomote Island to Yubu Island.
