Beautiful Ogaki Castle
Gifu's Ogaki Castle played an important role in the battle of Sekigahara in 1600, often considered the deciding battle that ushered in the Tokugawa Shogunate. Mitsunari Ishida used the strategically positioned castle as his home base, but was drawn out to face Tokugawa Ieyasu's forces on the field of Sekigahara to the west, where he was defeated as forces loyal to Tokugawa took the castle.
While the original castle was destroyed during World War II, the main keep was reconstructed in 1959, and stands as a rare example of a four-level keep. Discover the castle and its surrounding in this highly enchanting video from videographer Bruno Suzuki. You can watch the full video here.
