This well-cut little video from Marco Sansalone covers 11 places in Japan over 14 days, spanning a distance of some 1,840 kilometers (1,143 miles).

From Osaka's raucous Dotonbori area to deer in Nara (looking oddly serene when they're not mugging people for their shika senbei deer crackers), Sansalone captures the scenic river in Arashiyama in western Kyoto and more deer on Miyajima in Hiroshima before heading up to take in a rainy day at Nikko Tosho-gu, night at Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo, and a smattering of food and festivals in between.

He hits major sights like Nara's Great Buddha, Kyoto's Kinkakuji, Ginkakuji and Fushimi-Inari Taisha and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, and the eagle-eyed viewer might recognize a few lesser-known spots up in Kamakura and Yokohama as well. Sansalone finishes with shots of Tokyo's Harajuku and Shibuya areas before getting back on the Narita Express and off to the airport. Not bad for 14 days!
