Top Sites for Noodle News
6. First We Feast
This online magazine sits on the nexus between food and pop culture—which, as it turns out, means quite a bit of ramen. With lots of fun, foodie content, First We Feast received the James Beard Award for best food blog in 2014.
5. ramen! ramen! ramen!
This is a pretty-looking site full of random ramen stuff. With a focus on videos, weird noodle developments and ramen events across the U.S., it’s great for a diversion while you heat up your bowl.
4. AllAbout.co.jp (Ramen Page)
Yes, it’s in Japanese. But that’s also why we were able to dip into details that usually don’t make it into English ramen blogs. We’ve translated a few from our top ramen guides, but if you’ve got the language skill (or the patience to decipher Google Translate), there’s a wealth of juicy information still to be found.
3. Lucky Peach
Lucky Peach is the online face of a quarterly journal of food, writing and photography that puts together a fun set of ramen info to boot. We even like the illustrations enough that we’ll forgive them for their essay on why soba is better than ramen.
2. Ramen Adventures
Ramen Adventures is run by Brian MacDuckston, who’s been scouring Japan for great eats since 2008. With great pics and hundreds of reviews, it’s a solid spot to learn about ramen in Japan. If you want more, check out Brian's Ramen Adventures on YouTube or pick up his bilingual book on the best 50 ramen shops in Japan.
1. Serious Eats
Serious Eats gave us some seriously fun ramen-related material, from waffle iron ramen to ramen crust pizza, as well as a bevy of great ramen recipes. There’s plenty more to be found on the site—have a poke around!
