Automated Instant Ramen Is (Not) A Reality

We’ve got automated hot water dispensers, ice makers, coffee machines and soda fountains. So why not an automated instant ramen maker, complete with onions, carrots and a choice of hard- or soft-boiled egg?

Well, it’s a joke, that’s why. But this brilliantly earnest Korean video for the cutting-edge “Ramenia 21” doesn’t let on—though the laser-cut chopstick timer and drone-based, direct-to-sofa delivery system might tip you off. The package input port also looks and sounds suspiciously like an old VHS video deck.

We’re not quite sure who made this, but our enjoyment level is over 9,000.
