Japan to Provide ¥50,000 Handout to Parents
Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide told the public, "For the children who will bear the future, we will provide 50,000 yen per child to single-parent households and households with low incomes."
The government will also establish a new system to lend housing subsidies to single-parent households, and offer them repayment exemption. Subsidies for local municipalities will be also expanded. The budget will be earmarked for nonprofit organizations that work to prevent women and children from becoming isolated and disconnected from society.
