Take a trip around Hiroshima with Javier Yañez, who takes us on a journey through the city’s most scenic views.

After surveying the streets, Yañez takes us inside the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, where we get a glimpse of the displays of the aftermath of the atomic bomb. Outside in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, colorful paper cranes hang by the statue of Sadako Sasaki, perhaps the best-known victim of the radiation from the bomb. Just across the Ota River, in stark contrast to the surrounding modern architecture, stand the remains of the Industrial Promotion Hall, now called the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, or Genbaku Dome—an eerie reminder of the cost of war.

Yañez then escapes to the island of Miyajima, where the red torii gate seems to float on the water when the tide is in. The peaceful deer and the falling cherry blossoms that Yañez captures really bring out the serenity of the island, and the view from the top of Mount Misen is stunning.
