Uber Eats Starts Medication Delivery Trials
Customers can use the Uber Eats application to choose from 49 medicines that are sold in brick-and-mortar Lawson stores. A licensed drug vendor picks up the required medications. Uber Eats drivers will then deliver the drugs to shopper's homes.
The move comes as kombini chains are expanding delivery services following a rise in demand due to the novel coronavirus epidemic. Lawson's prescription delivery trial will start in three outlets in Tokyo. Operators plan to increase the number of outlets in the future.
